Our Chapter History
It all began in 1999 when a mother daughter team – Gayla Gardner and Donya Gardner Campbell – along with 10 of their close friends, decided to ring in the new millennium by sharing their many blessings with underprivileged families. Since then, charitable efforts have spread from Houston to communities across state lines with chapters now in California, Illinois, New York, and the District of Columbia.
Inspired by the organization’s mission to impact families in need, Monica Coffey, Dawn Johnson, Raquel Jones, Candace Martin and Annette Watkins established the Dallas Chapter of the Twelve Days of Christmas, Inc., in 2010. Their mission to Pay it Forward has guided efforts to help less fortunate children and families. Organization membership has more than doubled in size since its inception and fundraising efforts have increased year over year. Outreach to families has expanded to include communities across Dallas and Collin Counties.
Message From The President
Annette J. Watkins ― Dallas Chapter President
Greetings from the Dallas Chapter of Twelve Days of Christmas, Inc.
Generosity…Kindness…Hope. These are the aspirations of our Dallas Hostesses. Giving back and paying it forward are the best gifts we can share on earth. Through the generous philanthropy of the Dallas Community, we have shared the spirit and blessings of Christmas with many families during this most special time of year. We are humbled and honored to be in our 6th season of giving and look forward to expanding our reach to many more deserving families.
Investing in our community is a critical component to help provide families with the essentials needed to thrive and flourish in today’s society. Through our fundraising efforts, many Christmas wishes have been fulfilled including meals, holiday gifts, computers and other lifestyle basics. In addition, we have supplied back to school backpacks and school supplies needed to help support educational goals. Our commitment to help disadvantaged North Texas families has grown with time, because of vigorous community support. We look forward to expanding our outreach to assist even more families.
